The glazed shopfront included glass fins and concealed steels for head restraint and stainless steel stall riser.

The glazing for the café was required to be installed concentric to the spiral staircase so that clearances matched around the 3-dimension gap. Setting out was critical from the outset and was carried out by the use of laser cut templates that keyed together to accurately space the concealed steels. The margin for error was less than 4 mm from true position to enable the glass to be purchased within lead time, all of the steel being manufactured in house.

System 2000 Group also designed and supplied the Stainless Steel Skeleton signage above the glass canopy.

Marks & Spencer’s Flagship Liverpool Store

Main Contractor:  Wates Retail
Client: Marks & Spencer’s
Location: Liverpool
Project Value: £300,000
Type of Works: Shop front glazing, auto doors

Shopfronts & Entranceways

On the Liverpool M&S Flagship Store Project the architect’s brief was for the stone load bearing structural ladder frame to be concealed above the curtain walling. This was integrated within the curtain walling and within the mullions we installed a strengthened section that augmented the integrity of the assembly. To ensure that design redundancy was allowed for if, in the event that a mullion suffered damage, then the Steel ladder frame spanning the opening is strong enough in its own right to retain the stonework. Should the resin anchor fixings in to the sandstone substrate suffer then the Mullions can withstand the Stone loads. The top and bottom of the mullions had reinforced plates to take the shear loads for the project specific wind loads.

System 2000 Group Ltd worked closely with the Architects on a project that was time critical and, at the same time, worked within a time constraint of a rolling program that meant that some issues of design could only be discovered until at a late stage. Some of these changes had to be carried out via MS remote desktop direct into our in-house CAD facility over the internet – revised cutting lists, for example, being implemented direct from site.

The main Entrance on Church Street included integration of telescopic sliding automatic doors to give a maximum of clear opening within the differing levels, including rain flow surface water flow studies, the levels for the whole of the ground floor was carried out by System 2000 working in close harmony with Wates Expert Surveyor, enabling the design and procurement of materials / glass and long lead time items and the like to be done off design drawings, working in close collaboration with the Stonemason, we all needed to have Confidence in each other.

This is a very impressive building. To think that the majority of this was covered in a modernization program carried out in the 1970’s. The re-instatement, in our opinion, was well worth the effort and is something that all involved with the project can be proud of – work included design and installation of concealed steel to support existing stone.

Security Roller Shutters and Grilles

System 2000 have manufactured and installed some of the world’s largest roller shutter doors. Individually designed doors can be manufactured up to 30m. We specialise in high security roller shutters designed to secure and protect commercial, industrial and retail premises. Our shutters are suitable for a wide variety of applications from entranceways, display windows and apertures of all types and sizes.

We produce steel and aluminium roller shutter door and grille systems. These are designed and manufactured to your individual requirements and are available in a full range of colours to accommodate the aesthetics of any building, shopping mall, retail premises, commercial or industrial property whilst ensuring the exacting demands for high security. Natural mill, powder coat or anodised finishes are available with the option of multi colour bespoke punched logos.

Shutters and Grilles can be manufactured from steel or aluminium cold-rolled or heavy-duty extruded sections to BS1774: 1987 from HE9TF aluminium. Reverse-coil application ensures that the correct profile face is always shown, and that each lath section slides together and is held tight by an endlock system, which is riveted directly to every alternate lath to prevent sideways movement. Because of our unique anti pullout and endlocking system, the laths cannot be forced out once entered into the specially constructed side guide.

We can also supply polycarbonate roller doors for interior and exterior use.

Alternative patterns, such as the bicycles shown above, or the tri-color paint style also shown are also an option.

Insulated roller shutter doors are ideal where energy conservation or noise reduction must be a consideration.

We also provide and install fire resistant roller shutters.

Anti-Ram Raid Shutters and Grilles

As a result of the ever increasing number of ram raid attacks, System 2000 Group designed a unique anti ram raid security shutter solution to be used in conjunction with its auxiliary equipment, to secure and protect not only products but the premises themselves. System 2000 Group designs, manufactures and installs anti-ram raid security shutters and grilles to Home Office recommendations, helping to combat crime.

Every box lath contains two high tensile steel rods running through the entire length of the lath and through the dedicated endlocks and steel anchor system.

Each rod has a bursting strength of 2.4 tons.

Should the shutter be subjected to ram-raid attack, the laths and stainless steel rods will interlock into the dedicated guide system, energy absorbing guide fixings and steel subframe. This dramatically reduces sheer loading and the curtain flexes, bringing the vehicle to a halt. The System 2000 Group roller shutter curtain is already inherently 40% stronger than conventional extruded sections with composite materials.

Options include stainless steel anti-cut rods, bespoke locking systems and anti-ram raid bollards – fixed, removable or telescopic – automatic or manual.

High Speed Doors

We also supply high speed automated shutters. The System 2000 High Speed Rapidor is a fully automated door that is activated using a range of different options. The System 2000 Door Controller allows all functions to be controlled and monitored including fault diagnosis and warning systems, controlled through a PC board or standard System 2000 control panel.

The main curtain is constructed from high strength, monofilament panels, purpose designed to act against wind pressure, incorporating wind endlock system where applicable. The bottom rail system is manufactured with full safety edge strip and neoprene weatherseal. Motor drive assembly and three phase, two speed, heavy-duty motor drive unit with integrated braking system and limit switches. The main self-supporting framework is built to house the curtain tensioning system and self supports the main heavy-duty steel roller assembly. Weather brush strips can be added as an optional extra. All metal covers are pre-finished galvanised, designed to give a long lasting life cycle, which is necessary with all high-speed doors. Door panels are Blue/Orange as a standard, with the option to have transparent PVC vision panels inserted.

Safety features include: bottom rail safety edge, photo electric beams, ground floor loops for safety and activation, remote control operation, timer return controls or manual push-button controls.

In addition we can provide and install PVC crash/strip doors.

Sliding Folding Doors

Sliding Folding Doors stack neatly to the side of the door opening, take up very little headroom and are particularly suitable for use in wide openings.

Planned Preventative Maintenance

Regular and planned maintenance programmes prolong the operational life of the door installation and ensure that it is kept in good working order. If the installation is maintained regularly and kept in a safe and efficient condition, accidents and damage can be avoided, this in turn will prevent unnecessary down time caused through system failure. In the long run planned maintenance is the most sensible and cost effective approach to take, it enables potential faults to be identified and easily rectified before they become major problems.

Current Legislation states that it is a legal requirement to maintain all security doors and shutters in an efficient state, in efficient working order and in good repair. Failure to show evidence of maintenance could mean prohibition & enforcement notices being served, fines up to £5000 and even imprisonment.

System 2000 Group offer Annual Maintenance Contracts in addition to our standard services; this ensures that your roller shutters, security doors, window grilles, auto doors and gates are kept in optimum condition. Our annual maintenance contract includes two scheduled service visits per annum to check the installation is in good working order, identify potential problems before they occur and provide a full report on any defects discovered and a quotation for any additional works required to maintain the product in good working order.

System 2000’s servicing schedules have been designed to meet current legislation and to identify potential problems with each visit recorded and a general service report issued.

We currently provide planned preventative maintenance throughout the UK, covering commercial, industrial and domestic premises.

Security Gates, Barriers and Bollards

We supply and install a wide range of products for securing site/car park entrances and exits; these include roller shutters, single or double leaf gates, lift arm barriers and can be in manual or automated systems.

Gates

System 2000 Group manufactures, installs, repairs and maintains a comprehensive range of gates and barriers to secure, protect and facilitate all commercial and residential facilities.

Barriers

We also manufacture, install, repair and maintain a range of both manual and automated barriers of any length, according to client specifications.

Bollards

Anti ram-raid posts and bollards provide protection from the increasing threat of ram-raids. Bollards can be fixed or telescopic and are easy to use. Once the floor-mounted lid has been opened, the post can be pulled up to its full extent and locked, to collapse the bollard you simply reverse the operation. Once the bollard is almost retracted, it drops onto heavy-duty buffers, which cushion the impact on stowage. Flush floor mounting makes the bollard unobtrusive and safe once stowed away.

System 2000 ram-stop telescopic bollards are constructed from heavy-duty mild steel box section which is galvanised as standard to provide maximum protection against corrosion, enhancing durability and reliability. Also available in a powder coated finish

Lattice Grilles

The retractable lattice grille system combines a classic appearance with effective security suitable for the home or workplace. The system can be easily fitted to the face or reveal of any window or doorway aperture. Where clear access is required the bottom track can be made to fold up in a number of configurations. The lattice construction is available in ‘X’ lattice as standard or can be produced in ‘S’ lattice if preferred.

All gates are top hung on nylon-coated steel bearings, and are available in a range of powder coated colours to suit. The doors fit within or around the reveal and have multi-point locking from a single key, available in 2 point or alternatively 4 point locking (providing enhanced burglary protection) with the lock mechanism shielded by a steel plate. All come in a strong steel lattice with a smooth durable finish, have overlapped locking profiles, an optional folding bottom track to allow unrestricted access through doorways when the gates are open, compact sashes which fold neatly to the side giving un-obscured visibility to window displays and are available as either a steel riveted lattice assembly system or a specially designed lattice assembly system utilising high grade (patented) steel screws.

All 4-point locking systems come with LPCB certification and are installed in accordance with LPS 1175. Enhanced burglary protection is achieved through the use of an advanced 4 point locking system and the unique patented assembly system. The validity of LPCB certification is contingent upon each gate being installed in accordance with the requirements of LPS 1175.

Burglar Bars

Security burglar bars are manufactured from steel and can be fixed to the inside or outside of the window. They are secured with 75mm bolts with system lock concealed caps.
